a new challenge blog and some things!

let's see, first thing's first: a little bird told me is a brand spankin' new challenge blog run by some very creative scandinavian ladies. i absolutely adore their blog layout and am so impressed by the design team's entries for the current challenge, which is simply to use a lot of color! here's my favorite layout. maybe it's just me, but i've found that europeans are a lot more liberal when it comes to their use of colors, not just in scrapping, but in every art form out there. it's so inspiring, and being someone who loves bright colors myself, i can't wait to get started on the challenge! :)

next, how was everyone's nsd '09? mine was awesome. i participated in some fun challenges over at SiStv and had a blast. i even ended up winning stacey fike's challenge!



i also participated in corinne's and jan's challenges to scrap a non-person photo and to get messy. the layout i came up with is going to be part of my chipboard album project (that i hope to finish soon, sheesh), and i can honestly say it's one of the more challenging things i've done. i didn't go heavy on embellishments, just painted and distressed a lot, and for me, that's pretty new! i'm really excited about how it turned out, though, and i love my zune.
